On 12th January, the GOB coordinated the winter
census of red kite,
covering 6 points of Majorca Island.
As a result we counted 114 red kites. This result is close to known
red kite population of the island, that we think it is slightly higher
than this figure.
As a result 114 red kites were counted. This result is close to the
known red kite population of the island. We think that red kite
population in Majorca island is slightly higher than the number of red
kites counted during the census.
The census of breeding pairs in 2012 was of 20 breeding pairs.
These people has participated in the census: Alvaro Romàn, Cati
covering 6 points of Majorca Island.
